Course Description

Video editing systems, editing principles and techniques, special effects, types of output media, and distribution.

Course Goals

Students completing the course will:

  1. understand video editing systems;
  2. understand video editing principles;
  3. demonstrate the use of video and audio editing software;
  4. apply editing principles to video footage;
  5. apply various editing techniques to videos;
  6. apply special effects to videos;
  7. record, edit, and manipulate audio;
  8. organize video and audio footage based on evaluative criteria;
  9. archive finished video footage; and
  10. select specific type of output media for video.
